A MOLE-tastic celebration
28 Oct 2022
After more than two years of the pandemic lockdown, Ateneo de Manila Junior High School (AJHS) Grade 9 students and teachers of the Science Subject Area once again celebrated MOLE DAY on October 27 (Pamplona and La Storta) and Oct. 28 (Cardoner and Montserrat), 2022, with the theme, “Finding Nemole.”
The students participated in three simultaneous events:
1. The Mole is Right- students were tasked to calculate the number of moles present in various chemical substances, applying their skills of estimation;
2. Minecraft A-mole-zing Race- this was a Minecraft education activity designed for students to answer several science questions in an underwater temple and finish the race in the fastest time possible; and
3. Finding Nemole Escape Room- a quest where students had to answer various mole questions in order to locate, unlock, and free Nemole, the star of the celebration.
After the three events, students gathered at the MST lobby for Mole Bee, which was a quiz bee where students answered mole questions as a class.
The 2022 Mole Day celebration was successful thanks to the many mole-tastic students who actively participated and engaged in all events. It was truly refreshing and edifying to see our AJHS students on-site having fun and collaborating with one another to achieve a common mole-goal!
