AGS pet blessing 2022

In celebration of the Feast of Saint Francis of Assisi, patron saint of ecology, the Ateneo de Manila Grade School held a blessing of pets on October 5 at the Chapel of the Holy Guardian Angels. This activity was spearheaded by Grade 1. Our young Ateneans are formed to be Guardians of God’s Creation. We thank God for creating a beautiful world, for all his wonders which we experience every day, and for all our animal friends. Out of gratitude and love of God, we should care for our planet because this is our common home and we should be kind to all animals and all creatures because like us, they were all created by God.

The Rite of Blessing was presided by Fr. Edwin Peter Dionisio, OFM, chaplain of the Real Monasterio de Santa Clara along Katipunan. In attendance are some of our teachers and staff and their pets.
