AUSTRALIA – To monitor student mobility and deter damage, Moorebank High School decided to put fingerprint scanners at the entrance of its restrooms. Nearly all of its students have already given their fingerprint data. Despite its use not being required, the system is described by a privacy expert as still posing hazards that outweigh any potential benefits. READ HERE

UNITED STATES – A cyberattack on the Los Angeles Unified School District that utilized a “ransomware tool” disabled computer systems, preventing staff and students from accessing their emails.
