Call for Papers: Adaptive Games for Learning at HCII 2023
03 Oct 2022
The Ateneo Laboratory for the Learning Sciences is organizing a session entitled "Adaptive Games for Learning" at the Human Computer Interaction International 2023 Conference (HCII 2023). HCII 2023 will take place at the AC Bella Sky Hotel and Bella Center, Copenhagen, Denmark, 23-28 July 2023 (https://2023.hci.international/). It will run as an 'in-person' conference with the option for remote participation.
"Adaptive Games for Learning" will be scheduled to take place between 26-28 July as an ’in-person’ with the option for remote participation event, in the context of the 5th International Conference on Adaptive Instructional Systems, an affiliated conference of HCII 2023, with Robert Sottilare and Jessica Schwarz, as Program Co-Chairs.
We invite papers that discuss the design, development, usage, or testing of adaptive games to support formal or informal learning goals. Papers may describe how games are designed or implemented to adapt user preferences or behaviors. Alternatively, papers may describe engineered or machine-learned models that may inform adaptation. Topics may include but are not limited to student modeling, pedagogical modeling, domain modeling, game design, game implementations, impact on student outcomes, and so on.
Proceedings will be published as part of the Lecture Notes in Computer Science (LNCS) series, incl. its subseries Lecture Notes in Artificial Intelligence (LNAI) are indexed by the following services:
