AGS celebrates Feast Day of Holy Guardian Angels with first onsite mass in two years
03 Oct 2022
Though the Feast Day of the Holy Guardian Angels is usually celebrated on October 2, the Ateneo de Manila Grade School community this year celebrated this most important occasion two days early on Friday, September 30, 2022. The AGS marked this most special of days with a school-wide mass, a procession, a surprise performance, and a simple salu-salo. The mass was presided by our University President, Fr. Bobby Yap SJ, with all our Grade 5 boys onsite in the AGS covered courts as mass sponsors. (The boys from other grade levels attended the mass virtually via livestream.) A traslacion followed during which the image of the Holy Guardian Angel was processioned from the covered courts to the Chapel of the Holy Guardian Angels. Afterwards, the boys were then treated to a spirited live performance by the Blue Babble Band and Battalion, after which a simple salu-salo capped the celebration.

Our Holy Guardian Angels are considered our patrons and the guardians of young Ateneans. They serve as messengers of God’s love, and are our protectors, healers, and guides. We joyfully celebrate them as they lead us closer to God and help us live lives of faith, excellence, and loving service.
