Jimbo Bernardo is Singapore Int’l Math Olympiad’s Overall Champ; achieves perfect score

Representing the Philippines, recent Ateneo de Manila Senior High School graduate Jimbo Bernardo (12-Pro, Class of 2022) won a slew of awards in the Singapore International Mathematics Olympiad Challenge (SIMOC), which was held virtually on July 17, 2022. He was named Overall Champion of the Junior College/Grade 11 & 12 division thanks to an award haul that included a Perfect Score in the Math Olympiad Round, a silver in the Math Master Mind team competition upper division, and another silver in the Mind Sports team competition upper division. His perfect score in the Math Olympiad Round also earned him a School Rank of 1, a Country Rank of 1, and a Global Rank of Perfect Score 1.

SIMOC is a mathematics competition for students from grades 1 to 12 which not only tests their ability to solve mathematical problems on pen & paper, but also gives them an opportunity to work in a team with top mathematical talents from around the world while playing interactive mathematical games and solving puzzles.
SIMOC 2022’s participating countries included Brazil, Bulgaria, Cambodia, China, China-Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Iran, Malaysia, Mexico, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Uzbekistan, and Vietnam.
