AGS’ Mika Bagain wins awards in national rounds of PIMSO-Science and PIMSO-Math

Six Ateneo de Manila Grade School boys won awards at the Philippine International Math and Science Olympics (PIMSO) national round competitions that were held online on June 26, 2022. In the Science competition, Ethan Alferez (4-Maniago) and Mika Bagain (2-Mulawin) secured silver in the primary 3 and primary 1 divisions, respectively. Bagging bronzes were Waki Aringo (5-Kalinga), Henri Lee (3-Matutum), and Miguel Tagarda (3-Taal). Waki competed in the primary 4 division, while Henri and Miguel both participated in the primary 2 division. In the Math competition, Mika Bagain and Lego Pauig (3-Makiling) both earned achiever awards for the grade 1 and grade 2 divisions, respectively.


Of note is the fact that Mika Bagain is the only AGS student to win awards/distinctions in both the Science and Math competitions of the PIMSO National Round.
Organized and facilitated by International Champions in Education (ICE), Inc., PIMSO aims to promote excellence and proficiency in Mathematics and Science through friendly global competition among its country partners. Students who have won gold/ silver/ bronze/ achiever awards in the PIMSO-Math National Round and/or the PIMSO-Science National Round are invited to compete in the PIMSO International Finals.
