Joaquin Jobog wins gold for PH in ‘Future Mathematicians’ challenge

Three Ateneo de Manila Junior High School boys were among the mathletes who won medals and helped the Philippines to be ranked first overall at the Challenge for Future Mathematicians (CFM) competition. Joaquin Jobog (Montserrat/8-Ishida) grabbed a gold award in the grade 7 division, while G.O. Gumban (Cardoner/9-Baena) and Aegean Nakila (Montserrat/8-Ireland) both bagged bronze awards in the grade 8 and grade 7 divisions, respectively.

A total of 369 mathletes from the top-ranked Philippines harvested 49 golds, 128 silvers, 179 bronzes, and 13 merit awards at CFM 2022, which was held online on April 13, 2022. The annual, Indonesia-based competition aims to facilitate the exchange of the latest mathematics-related information, initiatives, and applications from across the world among participating countries.
