Miggy Dugan wins silver for PH in Bulgaria-based math tilt

Ateneo de Manila Junior High School mathletes Miggy Dugan (Montserrat/8-Ireland in School Year 2021-2022), Xavier Algenio (Montserrat/9-Lewis in SY 2021-2022) and Joaquin Jobog (Montserrat/7-Grimaltos in SY 2021-2022) each won a medal award for the Philippines at the Mathematics Without Borders (MWB) Final Round, which was held online on July 2, 2022. Miggy won a silver award for age group 7, while Xavier and Joaquin both bagged bronze for age group 8 and age group 6, respectively.

In 2021, more than 1,200 mathletes from 17 countries (Australia, Azerbaijan, Bangladesh, Bulgaria, China, Estonia, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Malta, Philippines, North Macedonia, Romania, Russia, Slovenia, Taiwan, Turkey, Uzbekistan) participated in the MWB Final Round. The MWB International Tournament originated in Nessebar, Bulgaria. It has three remote rounds called the Autumn Round, the Winter Round, and the Spring Round. Only medalists from at least one of these remote preliminary rounds may join the Final Round.
