The University discovered the breach after detecting suspicious activity in certain employee email accounts. It confirmed that the compromised data varied, depending on the individual involved. NEWS: Ransomware group takes credit for attack on University

AUSTRIA – Ransomware group, Vice Society, claimed responsibility for the cyberattack that significantly interrupted the IT services of the Medical University of Innsbruck, and even may have even resulted in the theft of data. Some of the apps have weak security and privacy features while others contain links to malicious websites (e.g., with malware).
