Joaquin Jobog earns ‘distinction’ certificate at int’l math assessment test

Ateneo de Manila Junior High School mathletes Joaquin Jobog (Montserrat/7-Grimaltos in School Year 2021-2022) and Tiel Blanca (Pamplona/9-Sitjar in SY 2021-2022) earned a distinction certificate and a credit certificate, respectively, in round one of the 11th International Mathematics Assessments for Schools (IMAS). Joaquin’s distinction certificate was for the Grade 7/Junior division, while Tiel’s credit certificate was for the Grade 9/ Junior division. According to web reports, a total of 97 Filipino math wizards earned distinction certificates at IMAS round one, while 306 earned credit certificates.
Organized by the IMAS Executive Council, IMAS is an innovative, world-class mathematics assessment test that measures students’ performance in three cognitive dimensions (Knowing, Applying & Reasoning) at the Middle Primary (Grade 3 and 4), Upper Primary (Grade 5 and 6) and Junior (Grade 7, 8 and 9) levels. Round one of IMAS 2022 was held online on February 5, 2022.
