It is our pleasure to announce that the 3rd Philippine Symposium on Freshwater Biodiversity and Ecosystems (PSFBE2022) will be hosted by the Department of Biology and the Department of Environmental Science of the Ateneo de Manila University on November 9–11, 2022 with the theme “Challenges and prospects for freshwater science at the onset of UN Decade of Ecosystem Restoration”.

This face-to-face event will serve as an avenue for participants to present and learn newfound knowledge on the biodiversity and ecology of freshwater environments in the Philippines and the rest of tropical Asia. In addition, the conference will serve as a platform for networking with researchers on limnology, freshwater ecology, biodiversity, and conservation biology from around the world through a wide range of talks, conversations, poster sessions, and other opportunities.

ABSTRACT SUBMISSION

We are accepting submissions for oral and poster presentation on any of the following thematic areas: (1) Philippine freshwater ecosystem, (2) freshwater ecosystems of tropical Asia, (3) taxonomy and systematics, (4) conservation, management, and policy. The deadline for abstract submission is on July 31, 2022 via: https://psfs.org.ph/call-for-papers/

Awards will be given for the best oral (graduate category) and best poster (high school category, regular category) presentations. Additionally, authors of accepted papers will be invited to submit full papers for consideration in a special issue of a Philippine-based Scopus-indexed journal.

CONFERENCE REGISTRATION

To register to attend the conference, kindly visit this link: https://psfs.org.ph/register-now/

Discounted rates are being offered to undergraduate and high school students, as well as for early bird registration (before September 15) and PSFS members who have attended the previous conference. The conference fee is inclusive of access to the program, food, a conference kit, a printed conference program, and a digital book of abstracts.

For inquiries and/or concerns, please contact the conference secretariat at psfbesecretariat@gmail.com.
