Nathan Ballatan wins bronze for PH in Int’l Math Olympiad

Ateneo de Manila Junior High School mathlete Nathan Ballatan (La Storta/7-Collins) won a bronze award for the Philippines at the International Mathematics Exam Center (IMEC) Online Olympiad Final Round. He competed in Level 2 (for Grades 6 and 7) of the competition, which was held on April 3, 2022.

The IMEC Olympiad is a uniquely challenging global competition that allows participants to advance their understanding of - and love for- the fascinating world of mathematics. The key competence it tests is logical combination and not just pure knowledge of formulas.
Participating countries in the IMEC Olympiad’s Final Round included Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, Cambodia, Canada, Egypt, Hong Kong, Iraq, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Laos, Malaysia, Moldova, Mozambique, Nigeria, Philippines, Portugal, Republic of Crimea, Romania, Tanzania, Thailand, Tunisia, Turkey, Turkmenistan, United Kingdom, Ukraine, United States of America, and Vietnam.
