Xavier Algenio wins silver for PH in HOTS math competition

Ateneo de Manila Junior High School mathlete Xavier Algenio (Montserrat/9-Lewis) won a silver award for the Philippines in the Junior Secondary division of the 2021 HOTS (Higher Order Thinking Skills) Mathematics and Science Competitions, which were held online on June 26 and 27, 2021. His silver was for the Math competition. 

Filipino math and science wizards harvested a total of 189 gold, silver, and bronze certificates, 167 distinction certificates, and 178 merit certificates in the competition. Of this total, mathletes garnered 28 gold, 45 silver, and 60 bronze certificates, plus 98 distinction and 94 merit certificates in the math competition.
