Ateneo Global hosts University of Batangas for benchmarking visit on internationalization and student services

On 12 March 2025, Ateneo de Manila University welcomed key decision-makers from the University of Batangas (UB) for a benchmarking visit organized by the Office of the Assistant Vice President for University Partnerships and Internationalization (OAVP-UPI). The visit focused on sharing best practices in internationalization, student services, and academic quality assurance.
The UB delegation was led by University President Lily Marlene J. Hernandez-Bohn, joined by Board of Regents Chairman Jesus V. Mayo, Assistant Vice President (AVP) for Legal Affairs Atty. Vicente Bernardo V. Mayo, Jr., Dr. Abegayle Machelle M. Perez-Chua, Mr. Alex Ramos, and other senior leaders from academic, research, student services, and administrative offices including Dr Lolit Tegon, Dr Doringer Cabrera, Dr Pastor Arguelles, Jr., Dr Irene De Villa, Mr. Alvin Mercado, Dr Erwin Lumanglas, Dr Mayling Capuno, Dr Agusto Africa, Dr Gladiola Eje, Ms Christine Hernandez and Dr Daisy Maghirang.
From Ateneo, the session was led by Ms Ma. Cristina M Alikpala, AVP for University Partnerships and Internationalization, who opened the event with a presentation on Ateneo’s history, mission, vision, and upcoming and ongoing plans. She was joined by Ms Karen C Sunico, Director for Partnerships and Engagement; Dr Carolyn Pile Natividad, Director of Internationalization at Home; Mr Jo Ortega, International Outbound Officer; Ms Pamela Magtalas, International Inbound Officer; and Mr Pete Panday, International Mobility Officer for Employees.
The UB group also met and listened to presentations of various offices, namely Mr Rene Salvador R San Andres, Director of the Office of Student Affairs and Services (OSAS); Mr Ralph Jacinto A Quiblat, Director of the Office of Student Activities (OSA); and Mr Gary Aguedo G Faustino, Director of the Office of Guidance and Counseling (OGC).
The visit concluded with a campus and art gallery tour, offering UB a glimpse into Ateneo’s holistic approach to education. The session highlighted shared goals and opened doors for future collaboration between the two institutions.
