Ateneo Innovation Center: Low-cost phototherapy system for neonatal care in Benguet

From July to October 2024, the Dennis Molintas District Hospital launched a groundbreaking advancement in neonatal care with the Low-Cost Phototherapy Light System, developed by the Ateneo Innovation Center in partnership with the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) and the Benguet Provincial Health Office. Designed to treat neonatal jaundice effectively, this innovative solution has updated the hospital's capacity to manage critical cases and alleviated families' physical, financial, and emotional challenges. By offering reliable phototherapy during severe weather conditions, this system highlights the hospital's improved quality provision of services for the province's marginalized sectors.
