[AGS] Food Conservation Month
06 Jan 2025
As we start the new year, it is good to continue healthy habits that will allow us to perform our tasks better and live productively. This begins with proper eating practices.
Pinggang Pinoy ensures that we get the nutrients essential for growth, energy, and learning. Follow the proper portioning of food: 1/3 of your plate for GO foods, 1/6 for GROW foods, and 1/2 for GLOW foods.
GO foods (carbohydrates) provide energy for studying and playing. Examples of these are rice, bread, corn, pasta, and root crops like sweet potato.
GROW foods (proteins) help build strong muscles and repair tissues. This includes fish, eggs, chicken, pork, beef, tofu, and beans.
GLOW foods (fruits and vegetables) are rich in vitamins and minerals to keep the body healthy and boost the immune system. The best examples are carrots, squash, spinach, banana, mango, and papaya.
Drinking enough water is vital for hydration and body functions.
Pinggang Pinoy is a plate of life. Following it provides health in every bite. Finish the food on your plate and ensure that nothing goes to waste!
