ML@52 Calendar of Events
18 Sep 2024
As we commemorate the 52nd Anniversary of the Declaration of Martial Law in the Philippines, the Office of the Vice President for Mission Integration (OVPMI), the Ateneo Martial Law Museum and Library (AMLML), and the various schools, departments, offices, and student organizations of the Ateneo de Manila University invite you to a series of events that reflect our shared history and recall the sacrifices of those who fought for justice and peace.
This year’s theme, “Tugon ng Sambayanan: Paglilingkod sa Kapwa,” underscores the diverse ways Ateneans responded to Martial Law. Inspired by Fr. Bienvenido F. Nebres, SJ’s 1974 speech, “The Ateneo in Service of the Nation,” the theme challenges us to embody the university’s mission by fostering social concern, engaging with the marginalized, and ultimately being persons for and with others.
From storytelling sessions and discussions to memorial activities and mobilizations, join us as we honor our heroes, stand against historical distortion, and renew our commitment to truth, freedom and democracy.
Check out our calendar with activities that engage, inspire, and educate.
Let us walk together in solidarity as we remember and honor those who resisted the Marcos Dictatorship and responded to the call to serve the Filipino nation.
Never again! Never forget!
