Student councils are pivotal in shaping the graduate school experience at Ateneo de Manila University. The Ateneo Graduate School of Business (GSB) and the Ateneo School of Medicine & Public Health (ASMPH) have dedicated student councils committed to enhancing the graduate school journey and fostering community. These councils serve as platforms for students to voice their concerns, ensuring open communication channels and active participation in decision-making processes that affect the student body.
Likewise, the Ateneo Law Student Council (ALSC) is instrumental in promoting student welfare and advocacy within the law school community. Through its official Instagram account and website, the council keeps students informed about upcoming events, initiatives, and opportunities for engagement, empowering them to contribute positively to their community.
Ateneo recognizes the Committee on Graduate Students Concerns (CGSC) as the official body for addressing graduate students' issues. CGSC comprises department representatives appointed by department chairs and approved by the Office of the Assistant VP for Graduate Education. These members participate in various committees, advocating for the interests of the graduate student community. CGSC aims to serve and represent the graduate community to foster a sense of being "Professionals for Others" within the Ateneo de Manila University graduate school community.
At the undergraduate level, the Sanggunian ng mga Mag-aaral ng mga Paaralang Loyola ng Ateneo de Manila (Sanggunian) (Student Council of the Loyola Schools of Ateneo de Manila University) is the sole autonomous student government of the undergraduate students. Serving as a vital platform for student voices, the Sanggunian strives to create an inclusive campus environment where every Atenean's voice is heard and valued. Through its official Facebook page and website, the Sanggunian ensures transparency and accessibility in its operations. It keeps the student body informed about its initiatives and fosters a culture of active participation and engagement, making every student feel a part of the larger Ateneo community.
Since there isn't a national council in the Philippines, the Student Council isn't connected to any. On the other hand, it works closely with the Student Council Alliance of the Philippines.
