The most recent recipient of the award was composer and singer Jose Mari Chan. Other recipients were poet Emmanuel Torres, theater director Felix “Nonon” Padilla, and visual artist Jose Tence Ruiz, whose retrospective exhibition entitled “Litanya: 1972–2022” is currently running at the Ateneo Art Gallery.

The awards are a testament to the artistic talent on campus and the attempt of the Loyola Schools to give them due support and recognition. Many recipients of the Loyola Schools Awards for the Arts over the last thirty years have gone on to have successful careers in the arts. Among them are novelist Miguel Syjuco, filmmaker Khvan de la Cruz, actor Paolo Fabregas, poet L Lacambra Ypil, and the late writer Clinton Palanca.

The awarding ceremony, the first onsite one since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, was held on 10 June 2023 at the Rizal Library.
