Exploring the green oasis: Ateneo de Manila University's campus and iconic spaces
06 Sep 2021
Ateneo de Manila University has a vast campus that covers 16 hectares of forested areas and 27 hectares of open fields and green spaces. It's a haven for urban wildlife and provides ecological and socio-cultural services to the community. The iconic Church of Gesu is a Filipino landmark that hosts liturgical masses and events open to the public. On the other hand, the Arete features an extensive outdoor area for art installations and creative pursuits that the public can access, along with complimentary mats for the grassy spaces within the building.
The Ateneo Institute of Sustainability's Ateneo Wild project offers guided nature walks and tours that allow the public to engage more deeply with the campus environment, fostering a stronger connection to nature and campus wildlife.
