Ateneo Junior High School Materials Recovery Facility Renovated
03 Jun 2019
The Materials Recovery Facility in the Ateneo Junior High School was renovated in early 2019 to allow for more efficient diversion of solid waste in the unit. The University practices ecological solid waste management, which means that segregation and waste diversion are done on campus in designated unit facilities. The waste is classified into five categories: Compostables, Recyclables (PET bottles, cartons, assorted metals), Dry Paper, Other Waste, and Electronic Waste or E-waste. Recyclables, Dry Paper and E-waste are sold to accredited recyclers and the sales are given to the maintenance staff.
