In 2022, Ateneo de Manila University began a seven-year journey to become a Laudato Si' University that responds both to the cry of the earth and the cry of the poor.
In line with this commitment, I am pleased to announce the creation of the Laudato Si’ Council of Ateneo de Manila University and the appointment of the following as members of the said council:

The Council shall evaluate the current Laudato Si' University initiatives in alignment with the Laudato Si' University Goals. It shall recommend enhancements to existing programs, the introduction of new ones and the discontinuation of certain projects. Additionally, the Council will periodically reassess the University's overall strategy. All recommendations will be submitted to the University President.
I have requested Dr Leland Joseph R Dela Cruz, Assistant Vice President for Social and Environmental Engagement for Development and Sustainability to serve as the lead convener.
On behalf of Ateneo de Manila University, I thank the members of the Laudato Si’ Council for their generosity in making themselves available for this important service to the University.
As we celebrate the Season of Creation 2024 these days, let us entrust the members and the work of the Laudato Si’ Council to our Lord. May the Creator of all that exists grant them the wisdom to guide our community in strengthening our commitment to ecological justice, caring for our common home, and embracing sustainable practices.
