RE:
Corazon “Dinky” J Soliman, 1953–2021

The Ateneo de Manila University joins the nation in mourning the passing of Corazon “Dinky” J Soliman on 19 September 2021.
A social worker who served as Secretary of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) twice, under President Gloria Arroyo from 2001 to 2005 and President Benigno Aquino III from 2010 to 2016, Dinky and her husband Hector were conferred the university’s Ozanam Award in 1994.
Back then, the university recognized Dinky’s advocacy and community organizing work for farmers and the urban poor. As DSWD Secretary under President Aquino, she strengthened the implementation of the government’s Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program and chaired the cabinet group on Human Development and Poverty Reduction.
The Soliman family is requesting that, in lieu of flowers, assistance be tendered to two organizations: the AJ Kalinga Foundation (ajkalingafoundation.org) and the Samahan ng Nagkaisang Pamilya ng Pantawid (snpp.ph).
We request the Ateneo community to keep Corazon J Soliman and her family in your prayers.
†
Eternal rest grant unto Dinky, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon her.
May he rest in peace. Amen.
