Memo # U2021-054
31 May 2021
TO
The University Community
SUBJECT
Blue Aid
As we come to the end of Fiscal Year 2020-2021, we are all invited to look back and reflect on the year that was – a first for the University to be on full online operations. This shift has brought about changes in how we conduct our work and how we relate with each other. Ready or not, we needed to adapt to the new work environment with courage and creativity.
In the midst of all these yearlong challenges, we have remained steadfast in performing our work and learning new skills to address the emerging needs of our students and stakeholders. We strove to carry on despite moments of exhaustion given a seemingly borderless work-life, sadness in the midst of illness and loss of loved ones and people we know, and a longing for the good old days before the lockdown.
No one was spared from the effects of the pandemic, and we were called to do our share in supporting the community when some plans, programs and activities were put on hold, including increases in tuition, fees, and salaries. In this time of difficulty, however, we have also become more mindful, caring, and generous of our time and efforts as we continue to hope for the day when all shall be well.
For keeping our operations steady during this difficult year, the Trustees of the Ateneo de Manila, the Jesuit Community, and I wish to express our heartfelt gratitude to all of you, our dear employees, our partners in this mission. You will receive a Blue Aid[1] as a token of appreciation for your dedication and hard work.
May the good Lord bless you and keep you safe.
