Subject :
Transport Strike
In the event of a nationwide transport strike next week - Monday, 6 March 2023 to Saturday, 11 March 2023 - the university recommends that onsite classes at all levels in all campuses be transitioned to online mode for the duration of the strike. For classes that need to be conducted onsite, such as laboratory classes, the departments or offices concerned are requested to work out arrangements in consultation with their students and with the approval of their unit heads.
It is likewise recommended that all university offices transition to online mode and that all employees be allowed to work from home, with the exception of employees whose work can only be performed onsite. All office heads are enjoined to make the appropriate preparations for this transition to online work.
These arrangements are ordained to avoid the disruption of classes and university operations if the 7-day public transport strike takes place beginning on Monday.
School units and university offices are requested to make the necessary preparations to go fully online for most of the services during the said period.
Offices should also advise visitors and external clients regarding alternate ways to contact or transact with their units.
For your information and guidance.
