RE: Opening of Classes for the First Semester SY2022-2023
In light of the Loyola Schools Registrar’s announcement earlier today on the adjusted registration schedule for the First Semester, School Year 2022-2023[1], please take note of the following:
1. Staggered Schedule for Opening of Classes
a) Third, Fourth, and Fifth Year classes and all graduate classes begin on Thursday, 11 August 2022.
b) First and Second Year classes begin on Monday, 15 August 2022.
c) For Third, Fourth, and Fifth Year classes that also have Second Year students, classes begin on Monday, 15 August 2022.
d) Instructors are advised to check their class enlistment lists on Intraaisis by Wednesday, 10 August 2022 and adjust their syllabi accordingly.
2. First Class Meeting
a) Onsite and Flex classes must meet onsite, and online classes must meet synchronously, on their assigned first day of class.
b) By completing registration, students will have access to their class schedule and syllabus on AISIS and should proceed to their assigned classrooms for their onsite classes or to their Zoom meeting rooms for online classes. For students whose official registration has not yet been confirmed due to the usual waiting time for the confirmation of online/bank tuition payments, their class schedule is to be found in their assessment form.
c) For concerns regarding the first class meeting, students should email their teachers or the teachers’ department/program.
3. ORSEM 2022
ORSEM Campus Tours for undergraduate students will take place in the afternoon of Tuesday, 9 August 2022 and the whole day on Wednesday, 10 August 2022.
4. Faculty contracts
Faculty contracts for the First Semester SY 2022-2023 shall remain in force and will not be affected by the adjustment in schedule.
Given the previous two school years’ online mode of delivery, this First Semester SY 2022-2023 will be the first time for most of our current students to step into the campus. There may be some confusion during the first few days of the semester as students familiarize themselves with the different buildings and spaces of the Loyola Schools. With the sudden surge in the number of people on campus, we might also experience some temporary disruptions to both our physical and online systems and services. Let us be patient with one another and our systems.
Thank you very much.
