Nominations to the University CODI (OVPLS Memo)

RE:                 NOMINATIONS TO THE UNIVERSITY CODI

 

The University President has asked the Loyola Schools to nominate memberships to the UCODI for a two-year term that will end on 31 May 2024.

The University Committee on Decorum and Investigation (UCODI) is an independent body established to perform the following functions[1]:

a.       Serve as an independent internal mechanism that will investigate all incidents or complaints involving University employee sexual harassment, other forms of sexual misconduct, and inappropriate behavior within the scope of the Code of Decorum and Administrative Rules on Sexual Harassment, Other Forms of Sexual Misconduct, and Inappropriate Behavior (Code and Rules);

b.       Propose to the University Gender and Development Office policies, procedures, and guidelines to enhance prevention, investigation, protection, and assistance to parties including, but not limited to, proposals to amend or supplement the Code and Rules;

c.       Develop internal guidelines to ensure the proper handling of cases by the UCODI hearing panels; and

d.       Perform such other functions as may be necessary to enable it to achieve its mandate.

Vacancies and Qualifications

Aside from the qualifications above, the UCODI members must possess the following attributes[2]:

1.       Good moral character;

2.       Known integrity, probity, and independence;

3.       Proven and demonstrable understanding of gender issues;

4.       No prior record of involvement as respondent, defendant, or accused in any case within or outside the University involving sexual harassment, other forms of sexual misconduct, inappropriate behavior, or any form of gender-based discrimination;

5.       Excellent interpersonal skills and able to work collaboratively with others;

6.       Excellent verbal and written communication skills; and

7.       Able to analyze voluminous information and exercise critical thinking.

 

Please note that there’s no prohibition in nominating a person to the UCODI who is already member of the LSCODI.

Please submit your entries with the following information:

a)     full name of nominee

b)    CV/Resume of nominee

c)     or recommendation letter from the nominator.

 

We expect these nominations on or before 13 June 2022.  Please use the following email address: vployola@ateneo.edu. For easy identification of your email in a mailbox that is extremely busy, please use this as your subject:  UCODI nomination.
