Memo # U2122-068
22 April 2022
Memo to : The University Community
Subject : Revised Campus Access Guidelines for Students in Basic Education
In consideration of the Joint Memorandum Circular (JMC) No. 001, s.2022, issued on April 06, 2022, by the Department of Education (DepEd) and the Department of Health (DOH), we are revising our campus access guidelines for students in the Basic Education (BE) units: Grade School, Junior High School, and Senior High School.
Effective immediately, BE students will no longer be required to be vaccinated against COVID-19 in order to participate in face-to-face classes and other official school activities. Neither will they be required to take PCR tests as a pre-requisite to campus entry.
This exemption applies only to BE students. Our vaccination requirements remain the same for all other members of the community, including parents, guardians, companions and drivers of BE students.
The rest of the Health Protocols and Guidelines for Campus Access, the Use of University Facilities, and Holding of Events on Campus as detailed in the President’s memo # U2122-047, dated 18 December 2021 shall continue to be in force, including the requirement to fill up the Daily Health Declaration Form prior to campus entry. Temperature Checks will continue to be enforced at all access control points in the School Units.
BE students are still required to inform their School Unit Clinics of their vaccination status even if this is not a pre-requisite for campus entry, for proper monitoring of their overall health situation and to enable us to gather the aggregated vaccination data that we are required to submit to DepEd.
I continue to urge our students and all other members of our university community to get vaccinated against COVID-19, and to maintain vigilance in observing our health and safety protocols, to ensure a safe return to face-to-face classes and on-site school activities.
