I am pleased to announce the appointment of Ms Maria Rosario “Rose” A Banzon as the new Director of the Strategy and Quality Management Office (SQMO) effective 15 February 2022 to 31 May 2023.

Rose is currently a lecturer at the Department of Information Systems and Computer Science (DISCS) while serving as Assistant to the AdMU Board of Trustees. She brings to the SQMO her more than 30 years of combined experience in business management, education administration, Information Technology (IT) strategy, systems planning, development and implementation, both in the government and private sectors.

Prior to these responsibilities, Ms Banzon was Head of Operations of the Philippine Institute of Pure and Applied Chemistry (PIPAC) from 2018 to 2021; Assistant to the AdMU President from 2007 to 2017, and Director of the LS Management Information Systems (MIS) office from 2001 to 2009. Before joining Ateneo in 2001, she was Senior Division Manager for the Software Services Group of Ayala Systems Technology, and Supervising Fellow and Director of the IT Applications at the Development Academy of the Philippines.

Rose obtained her MBA (2007) and her BS Industrial Engineering degree (1984) from the University of the Philippines, Diliman, Quezon City.

On behalf of the University, I thank Rose for her magnanimity in accepting this new appointment and for her readiness and commitment to serve in our shared mission.

We also take this occasion to express our gratitude to Ms Maria Teresa R Santos for shepherding the SQMO from 2019 to 2021, and for her exceptional contribution in the development of the Lux in Domino 2030 University Strategic Plan.
