Nihongo for Young People

Nihongo for Young People is an outreach program open to young people (Ateneo and non-Ateneo students) from 13 to 19 years old. Our goal is to promote the understanding of Japan through its language in the young generation.

 

What can you learn?

Nihongo for Young People is a course for beginners. It focuses on basic communication skills, particularly through speaking and listening. The course also introduces a basic knowledge of Japanese characters for everyday use in Japan.

At the end of the course, you will be able to:

  • Use basic Japanese in a variety of everyday situations
  • Express your ideas in simple Japanese
  • Understand what you are told in Japanese
  • Recognize basic Japanese characters, especially Hiragana

Registration and Payment

  • A filled out registration form should be sent to the JSP office with the fee at least three (3) days before the module starts.
  • Course fee: P3,500 (inclusive of textbook and materials)
    • P2,000 (for children of ADMU faculty and staff - limited to 5 slots/class)
    • Submit a copy of the Official Receipt to JSP with your duly accomplished Registration Form.

Notes

  • Schedule may change due to a typhoon or other unexpected events.
  • Refund for withdrawal 3 days before classes start will be 50% of the fee paid. There will be no more refund for withdrawal once the classes start, except in situations where the class the student signed up for is dissolved, refund for this is 100%. Enrolled students will not be allowed to defer to the next cycle once classes have already started.
