Call for Applications: Communications and Marketing Officer, Academic Program

Position Title        :  Communications and Marketing Officer, Academic Program
Period Covered    :  One (1) Year (subject to annual renewal)



Description

The Ateneo School of Government is the public sector arm of Ateneo de Manila University whose long-term mission is to teach and work with effective and ethical public servants to build prosperous, sustainable, just, and happy communities in the Philippines empowered by democratic, participatory, transparent, and accountable governance institutions and processes.

As a graduate school for leadership and public service, ASOG's Academic program bridges the gap between the classroom wisdom and real-world policy decision-making and governance. Through      working with the research and extension programs, and its work with public, private and community organizations, ASOG aims to develop and foster innovative ideas and approaches in order to change mindsets and systems in such areas as leadership, poverty eradication, climate change, social accountability, and politics.

Tasks and Functions

The Communication and Marketing Officer is expected to undertake the following:

  • Communications and Branding
  • Develop, implement, monitor, and assess an annual communications plan for the Academic Program, as approved by the Academic Program Head and the School Dean
  • Conceptualize and design ASoG’s Academic program branding collaterals with that of the Ateneo School of Government and the Ateneo de Manila University as a whole
  • Oversee the design, copywriting, proofing, and production of branding materials for the Academic Program, such as
    • Brochures
    • Presentation materials
    • Video clips
  • Develop promotional materials (jackets, etc) for faculty and students
  • Monitor the effectiveness and impact of the communications and branding strategy, including assessment and evaluation

Marketing

  • Develop an online/digital marketing campaign utilizing all social media platforms for the Academic program, in coordination with the Office of the Dean
    • Review/assess ASoG’s social media accounts/engagement
    • Increase engagement of ASoG social media accounts
    • Regularly create and release social media content on all platforms
    • Monitor/Manage social media responses/inquiries
  • Manage/maintain the info.asog@ateneo.edu email, all social media platforms,  and the ASoG website
  • Organize a communications volunteer group for content creation, event management, and other marketing activities

Other responsibilities:

  • Liaise with the University and Marketing Communication Office (UMCO)
  • Collaborate with the Senior Student and Alumni Engagement Officer
  • Collaborate with the Senior Partnerships and Operations Officer at the Office of the Dean
  • Provide communications and branding support for ASoG events, such as the Kapihan sa ASoG, alumni gatherings, graduation, etc.

Qualifications

  •  College graduate in communications, journalism, or related fields.
  • At least 5 years of solid experience in the areas of communications, marketing, journalism, and digital communication.
  • Excellent writing, editorial, and presentation skills.
  • Excellent record of accomplishment in designing communication material, including social media posts and brochures, flyers, etc.
  • Good knowledge of communication principles.
  • Experience in using Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Indesign, Photosohop) or similar software to develop a range of communication and information products.
  • Knowledge/skill in content creation and maintaining and evaluating social media presence.

  • Ability to operate in teams, in a proactive and flexible manner.
  • Respect for Diversity: Displays culture, gender, religion, race, nationality, and age sensitivity.
  • Displays a high level of respect and tact when dealing with partners: excellent interpersonal skills, able to establish and maintain effective working relations with different stakeholders;
  • Communication: Demonstrates strong oral and written communication skills, including the ability to convey complex concepts in a clear and concise style.

3.    (Optional) Graphic Design and/or Copywriting Portfolio
