CALL FOR APPLICATIONS: Ateneo Policy Center Graphic Designer

03 Jun 2024

Unit: Ateneo School of Government (ASOG)
Location: SDC Complex, Ateneo de Manila University, Katipunan Ave. Quezon City
Duration: Two Months

I. Brief Description

The Ateneo School of Government (ASOG) is the public sector arm of Ateneo de Manila University. The School’s long-term mission is to teach and work with effective and ethical public servants. It aims to contribute to building prosperous, sustainable, just, and happy communities in the Philippines, empowered by democratic, participatory, transparent, and accountable governance institutions and processes.

In its working paper ‘Beyond Democrats and Authoritarians: Clustering Democratic Attitudes in the Philippines,’ Deinla et al. (2023) found that, while the Filipino youth remains supportive of democracy, they are fragmented into four clusters based on democratic values and satisfaction with democratic institutions. Clusters satisfied with democracy also prefer authoritarian values like conformity and political disempowerment. The new proposed study aims to reveal how experiences of economic mobility, geographic contexts, and education can shape each cluster’s views on democracy.

II. Scope of Work

The Graphic Designer is expected to:

  • Develop the digital assets for the project’s information, education, and communication (IEC) initiatives;
  • Support the re-branding of the study’s clusters, in close coordination with the project team, ensuring IEC materials are relatable and palatable to the target audience;
  • Work with the Web Developer to ensure that graphic assets can be embedded/integrated into the webpage design;
  • Communicate regularly with stakeholders to provide updates and incorporate feedback; and
  • During the survey launch, provide support to the project team by creating posters, banners, and other assets for event-related communication initiatives.

III. Qualifications

Applicants for the Graphic Designer position must have the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in communication arts, development communications, multimedia arts, or similar disciplines.
  • At least two (2) years of professional experience in developing IEC materials for development projects or institutions;
  • Proficiency in the use of graphic design software (e.g., Adobe suite);
  • Basic knowledge of web page development, or experience supporting similar projects, is an advantage;
  • Excellent communication skills for collaboration with multidisciplinary teams; and
  • Self-management, as evidenced by the ability to deliver outputs with minimum supervision.

IV. Application Requirements

All interested applicants must submit the following:

  1. An Application Letter addressed to Dr. Philip Arnold P. Tuaño, Dean of the Ateneo School of Government
  2. Curriculum Vitae

Please submit the required documents via email to policycenter.asog@ateneo.edu and use “[SURNAME] – Graphic Designer” as email subject. Deadline for the submission of applications is extended until 30 June 2024.
