ASHS' Rivera and teammates are Open Grand Champions of EcoVision Debate Challenge; Rivera is Overall Best Speaker

Leah Joy Rivera (12-Beyzym Class of 2025) of Ateneo de Manila Senior High School, together with her composite team members from MGC New Life Christian Academy and Marcelo H del Pilar National High School, emerged as the 1st breaking team and Open Grand Champions of the EcoVision Debate Challenge 2025, held on 26 April and 3 May 2025 at the PLDT Hall, University of Asia and the Pacific (UA&P) in Pasig City.

The team triumphed over strong competition, including teams from the Philippine Science High School, MGC, and various other institutions across the country. Alongside the championship title and cash prize, Leah Joy Rivera was awarded Overall Best Speaker of the tournament, earning an additional ₱5,000 cash prize, sponsored by the UA&P Business Economics Association in partnership with the Forum: UA&P Debate Society.

The EcoVision Debate Challenge 2025 was a highly competitive, two-weekend tournament conducted in the Asian Parliamentary format. Focused exclusively on economics-themed motions, it brought together talented debaters from schools nationwide.
