Ateneo crowned champions of the John H. Jackson WTO Moot Court East Asia & Oceania Regional Rounds

The Ateneo Society of International Law announced that the Ateneo-WTO Team is flying to the World Trade Organization at Geneva, Switzerland to represent the Philippines in the Final Global Rounds of the 2025 John H. Jackson WTO Moot Court Competition!
The team concluded its historic run in the East Asia & Oceania Regional Rounds as the Overall Champions, reclaiming the title it previously won in 2019!
The John H. Jackson WTO Moot is the world’s most prestigious moot court competition on Trade Law and International Economic Law, with participants from over 100 law schools in six different regions and across varying jurisdictions.
This year, the Ateneo-WTO Team successfully garnered the following distinctions:
- Overall Champions of the East Asia & Oceania Region
- Ranked 2nd Overall in the Preliminary Rounds out of 14 qualifying Teams;
- Final Global Rounds Qualifiers;
To cap off this exceptional achievement within the Society’s history, Byron Steven S. Siy (3D) was awarded the honors of Best Oralist in the Final Round.
The Team is composed of Team Captain Raisa Aina M. Pandapatan (2A), Melanie V. De Guzman (3C), and Byron Steven Siy (3D). They were supported by the efforts of Rebecca Claire O. Genato (1D) and Janica Dei G. Jocson as Team Administrators during the Memorial Rounds. The Team is mentored by Atty. Rohnwald Marcelo, and Atty. Luis Teodoro Pascua.
