On 15 February Areté, together with the Eugenio Lopez Jr Center for Multimedia Communication (ELJ-CMC), the Ateneo Business Insights Laboratory for Development (BUILD), the Ateneo Laboratory for the Learning Sciences (ALLS), and the Developing Evidence-Informed Digital Materials to Prevent Bullying Sandbox Residency, welcomed participants for a full-day immersive workshop on Generative AI (GenAI) at the College '66 Co-Lab in Areté.
In teams of two, participants were given a prompt of creating informational materials using GenAI. The goal was to develop engaging and insightful resources that raise awareness about bullying.

The workshop produced an inspiring range of outputs, including a website dedicated to providing parents with the tools to identify and address bullying, card games designed to facilitate discussions among children about bullying and offering support, and a hyper-narrative chapter book where readers could explore multiple perspectives and possible outcomes of bullying scenarios.

By the end of the workshop, participants observed that teams with a deeper understanding of the topic were better at generating effective outputs. They also reflected on the ethical implications of ownership, intellectual property rights, and authenticity in AI-generated visuals. The overall feedback highlighted how GenAI can be a powerful ideation tool for the initial process of creating meaningful content.
