Ateneo de Manila University fully supports the Year 2 Report recommendations of the Second Congressional Commission on Education (EDCOM 2), recognizing them as a crucial step toward transformative, evidence-based reforms in Philippine education. We commend EDCOM 2 for its rigorous assessment of the challenges facing our education sector and for proposing concrete, actionable solutions that will foster a more inclusive, innovative, and globally competitive learning environment for all Filipinos.
As an institution deeply committed to academic excellence, social transformation, and nation-building, Ateneo stands in solidarity with EDCOM 2 in its efforts to strengthen the foundations of our education system. We particularly emphasize the importance of enhancing early childhood education and nutrition, ensuring adequate and well-equipped classrooms, and empowering both teaching and non-teaching personnel with the necessary resources to drive meaningful change. These recommendations are vital to addressing learning gaps, fostering critical thinking and lifelong learning, and preparing students to thrive in an ever-evolving global landscape.
Ateneo remains committed to collaborating with policymakers, educators, and stakeholders in implementing these much-needed reforms. We look forward to further engagements with EDCOM 2 in research, policy advocacy, and capacity-building initiatives that align with our shared vision for a stronger Philippine education system.
Together, let us build an education system that empowers every learner and uplifts our nation.
