Updates and Announcements, 2nd Semester SY 2024-25
Welcome Back to the 2nd Semester!
A warm welcome back to all students as we embark on an exciting 2nd semester! This term promises to be a vibrant chapter, filled with meaningful events and opportunities for growth. Among the highlights are Sustainability Week in March, themed “The Little Way of Love,” a celebration marking the end of Ramadan, and the Social Media Summit in April, where students can dive into the dynamic world of digital engagement.
Additionally, we’ll commemorate the spirit of unity and resilience with the Spirit of ’86 EDSA Commemoration in the last week of February. In May, we’ll honor our graduating student leaders at the Flourish and Thrive Dinner Reception, celebrating their journey of service and leadership. And there’s even more in store—each event is a chance to engage, learn, and thrive. Let’s make this semester one for the books!
A Heartfelt Thank You and Congratulations
To all our amazing student leaders, congratulations on the success of the Ignacianidad 2024 Student Leaders Summit held on January 11-13, 2025, at the Fora Trade Hall in Tagaytay City. This summit was a shining testament to your dedication and passion for leadership.
Your active participation fostered empowering encounters and meaningful networks, igniting a spirit of compassion and collaboration within our community. We hope you take your experiences, insights, and learnings from IGN 2024 and cascade them to your organization members and communities. Let us continue building compassionate spaces where leadership and service flourish.
Welcoming Mr. Janlo Anthony Capuyan to the OSA Family
It is with great joy that we introduce the newest member of our team, Mr. Janlo Anthony Capuyan, who joins us as a Student Affairs Professional.
Sir Janlo is a BS Psychology graduate from the University of San Carlos and brings with him eight years of experience in the academe. His expertise spans recruitment, formation programs, events management, training development, and various administrative functions. He also holds an Educational PRC License for Teaching, reflecting his dedication to nurturing others through education.
Beyond his technical expertise, Janlo embodies qualities that align deeply with OSA’s values, including exceptional time management, adaptability, cultural sensitivity, and leadership. As the new Coordinator for Culture and Inclusion, Diversity, and Equity (IDE), he will play a pivotal role in fostering an inclusive and equitable campus environment, ensuring that every member of our community feels valued and supported. We are excited to see the positive impact he will have on our community and encourage everyone to extend him a warm Ateneo welcome!
Let’s Keep MVP Clean and Organized
As stewards of the MVP Student Center, let us come together for the MVP Organization Rooms Clean-Up Drive, happening from January 27-31, 2025. This initiative, spearheaded by OSA and COA-M, aims to ensure that our shared spaces remain functional and inspiring for all.
We encourage all organizations to remove personal items stored in their rooms and bring them home. Items for disposal should be left in the hallways, where maintenance personnel will manage proper disposal. As a follow-up, OSA will conduct organization room check-ins from February 10-14, 2025. Let’s take pride in maintaining a clean and organized environment that reflects our shared commitment to excellence.
A Joyful Lunar New Year
As we welcome the Year of the Snake, we extend our heartfelt wishes for a Happy and Fruitful Lunar New Year! This new year symbolizes courage, resilience, and bold aspirations—qualities we hope you carry throughout the semester.
Let us approach this semester with renewed energy and a commitment to creating a brighter, more compassionate community. Together, we will continue to thrive and make a meaningful impact. Cheers to Brighter Days Ahead!
