Several Jesuits and members of the Ateneo de Manila University community are to be featured in a gallery at the Kaisa Heritage Foundation's Bahay Tsinoy, Museum of the Chinese in Philippine Life, in Intramuros, Manila.
The Bahay Tsinoy Museum, which is currently nearing the completion of its ongoing renovations, held a special preview of its new gallery "Tsinoys in Nation Building," on 19 January 2025. The gallery features Filipino-Chinese individuals and organizations who have made outstanding contributions and had an impact on the Filipino nation.
Among those featured are Fr Roberto C Yap SJ, University President; Fr Johnny Go SJ, Dean of the Gokongwei Brothers School of Education and Learning Design; Fr Aristotle Dy SJ, former member of the Ateneo Board of Trustees; Dr Ellen H Palanca, Professor Emeritus and director of the Confucius Institute at Ateneo de Manila; Dr Queena Lee Chua, Professor at the School of Science and Engineering; Dr Manuel B Dy, Professor at the School of Humanities; and Dr Kenneth Hartigan Go, Senior Fellow at the School of Government's Ateneo Policy Center.
Inaugurated in 1999 by the late President Corazon Aquino, the Bahay Tsinoy Museum is a project of the Kaisa Para sa Kaunlaran, Inc, a non-profit organization co-founded by Teresita Ang-See. The museum is meant to provide another venue for advocating patriotism to the Philippines and promoting cultural identity and understanding between the local Chinese and Filipino communities.,
