Ateneo's Rockwell Campus celebrates 25 years this January
13 Jan 2025
This January 2025, Ateneo de Manila University will mark the 25th anniversary of the inauguration of its Rockwell Campus.

The Ateneo Rockwell Campus, which consists of the Ateneo Professional Schools Building, was inaugurated on 16 January 1999. The edifice was designed by Francisco Mañosa and Partners, who had also designed other buildings in Ateneo's main Loyola Heights Campus and. As such, the Rockwell Campus shares the same architectural look as Loyola, with its sandstone and brick construction.
The building was designed to blend well with the natural environment, making liberal use of natural lighting and ventilation in its many common areas where students can meet, plan activities, or study.
Meanwhile, interior walls were made of granite and natural materials that age very well, and its roofs were patterned after Ifugao roofs with finials that seemingly reach skyward.
Since its opening in 1999, the Ateneo Rockwell Campus has housed the Ateneo Graduate School of Business and the Ateneo de Manila School of Law – then part of what used to be Ateneo Professional Schools. Since then, an entire generation of Atenean lawyers and business administrators have passed through its halls.
Ateneo and its Graduate School of Business and School of Law have been celebrating this anniversary for the past year. These celebrations will culminate with a gathering on the evening of 27 January.
The event will start with a mass at the St Thomas More Chapel at 6:00 pm followed by a dinner program at 7:00 pm on the building's roof deck.
Ateneo de Manila University President Fr Roberto C Yap SJ will preside over the mass. Fr Yap will also give the opening remarks at the dinner program. Other possible speakers include Ateneo Vice President for Higher Education Dr Maria Luz Vilches and the schools' deans.
