Mr Tats Quiblat, Director of the Office of Student Activities (OSA), shared his insights at the recently concluded Discipline Congress 2024 hosted by the Center for Restorative Discipline of De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde on 14-15 November 2024. This annual gathering brought together Lasallian discipline officers and formators from across the Philippines to explore this year’s theme, “Innovating and Collaborating for Campus Discipline Excellence.”
Quiblat delivered a compelling talk on “The Future of Learning: Guidelines for Responsible AI Use in Educational Institutions” with an emphasis on Mindfulness in Digital Presence. His unique background in Futures Thinking and his advocacy for mindfulness provided a holistic framework for integrating Artificial Intelligence (AI) responsibly into educational systems. His presentation also offered practical guidance for Lasallian schools in crafting AI and digital behavior guidelines for their handbooks, equipping institutions with tools to navigate the evolving digital landscape.
Earlier this year, Sir Tats addressed similar topics at TechAdvise2024: Navigating AI, Safe Spaces, and Student Well-Being in Student Affairs, organized by the Catholic Educational Association of the Philippines (CEAP). These engagements underscore OSA’s commitment to promoting safe, inclusive, and forward-thinking educational practices that place student well-being at the forefront.
