UGDO Bulletin Campaign to End GBSH - Gaining Ground: Consolidating University Sectors towards Safe and Proactive Spaces to End Gender-based Sexual Harassment (GBSH)
03 Nov 2024 | University Gender and Development Office

This November 2024, Ateneo de Manila University invites the University Community to continue supporting the yearly campaign to End Gender-based Sexual Harassment (GBSH) under this year's theme "Gaining Ground: Consolidating University Sectors towards Safe and Proactive Spaces to End Gender-based Sexual Harassment (GBSH)." This theme forwards a renewed commitment to fostering a collaborative and unified approach to addressing gender-based violence within academic spaces.
This year we seek to transform awareness into sustained action by encouraging dialogue, empowering community members with knowledge, and reinforcing the importance of accountability. The campaign highlights the importance of building on past achievements while actively involving all university sectors—students, faculty, staff, and administrators—in a shared effort to create a culture of proactive prevention and response.
Throughout the campaign, the University and its units will be conducting events, training, and discussions designed by different University sectors to strengthen existing institutions and networks towards safer and more responsive spaces in our Campuses.
Lastly, this campaign supports the Philippine Commission on Women (PCW), which is mandated to lead, coordinate, monitor, and evaluate the nationwide yearly observance of the 18-Day Campaign to End VAW and end violence in all its forms, especially sexual and gender-based violence. We recognize the 20th anniversary of RA 9262 (or the Anti-VAWC Act of 2004) and are committed to the various aspects of safeguarding and protecting vulnerable sectors from risks and harm.
Through these combined efforts, the campaign aims to build a community where every member is empowered to contribute to a safe, inclusive, and respectful environment that stands firm against gender-based violence.
Interested parties may contact the organizations, offices, and units directly for more details, as the events may still be updated and finalized. More exciting events may also be added to the calendar! Please refer to www.ateneo.edu/central/gender/ugdo/bulletins for regular updates
