A small gift with far-reaching effects: AJHS donates armchairs to ACED's partner public school

A small gift with far-reaching effects.
For many years, the students of Tagumpay Nagaño High School have had to contend with broken chairs, creating great discomfort that made focusing on their lessons extremely challenging. Some of them even resorted to alternate use of available chairs or other makeshift arrangements.
Shortly before the opening of basic education classes in the country last July 29, 2024, Tagumpay Nagaño High School reached out to the Ateneo Center for Educational Development to ask for classroom chairs for the students as the school had only 400 usable armchairs for the 750 learners expected this school year.
The situation in this under-resourced school in San Leonardo, Nueva Ecija has changed significantly through the heartfelt gesture of the Ateneo de Manila Junior High School: 150 arm chairs have transformed the learning environment in the school. That the benefits of having appropriate classroom furniture go beyond comfort requires no explanation. Curriculum revisions may be envisioned to enhance learning outcomes but these cannot be implemented effectively without adequate learning resources and facilities.

The school community of Tagumpay Nagaño High School is immensely grateful to the Ateneo de Manila for this investment in the future of the boys and girls who will use these classroom chairs each day. Thanks to this gift, the students can now sit more comfortably as they continue to work towards achieving their dreams.
