To ensure the safety of student activities and the wider community, the Office of Student Activities (OSA) is enhancing its First Aid and Basic Life Support training programs. On August 5th, the first batch of student leaders received essential training facilitated by the Philippine Red Cross - Marikina Chapter.
Supported by the Office of the University Physician and the Office of the Assistant Vice President for Health, Care, and Well-being (OAVP), these sessions aim to equip student leaders with vital emergency response skills. Regular training is also provided for Organization Moderators to ensure that all #PartnersInFormation are prepared with basic life-saving skills.
OSA professionals and staff are also required to undergo this training, with periodic sessions to keep their skills current. The most recent training for OSA staff was held on May 28-29, 2024, with a separate session for Organization Moderators in July.
The student leaders' training on August 5 and 6, 2024, ran from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM at PLDT-CTC Room 414. Led by instructors from the Philippine Red Cross - Marikina City Chapter, participants received a Philippine Red Cross certification and ID valid for two years, along with a one-year Accident Insurance Bronze Coverage.
OSA's commitment to safety and preparedness is evident in its ongoing efforts to provide essential life-saving training to as many student leaders as possible.
