The Sacred Heart Novitiate hosted the Student Leaders Retreat Weekend Batch 1 from 28 to 30 June 2024. Twenty-four organizational heads and executive board members embarked on their transformative On Journeys and Crossroads Student Leaders Retreat. This retreat provided these dedicated students with a reflective and restful weekend, fostering spiritual growth and leadership development.
The On Journeys and Crossroads retreat, originally designed for alumni and young professionals, was tailored specifically for student leaders. The retreat offered an avenue for deeper self-reflection and spiritual renewal, helping participants to pause, rest, and discern their paths forward. This was the first time the retreat was offered onsite since the COVID-19 pandemic.
This year’s retreat was organized by the Office of Student Activities (OSA) in partnership with the Office of Campus Ministry (OCM). The attendees were predominantly non-graduating junior executive board members from various student organizations, publications, and the Sanggunian.
Guiding the participants through this journey was Theology Professor Dr. Roberto Conrado “Bobby Guev” Guevara, who served as the Retreat Director. The retreat also featured esteemed individuals who served as retreat companions for our student leaders.
As these student leaders embarked on their reflective journey, we prayed for them to have a meaningful and rejuvenating experience. The next batch of student leader-retreatants, Batch 2, is scheduled to take place this August, still at the Sacred Heart Novitiate.
