ASOG Dean Tuaño engages with PH Consulate in Dubai to strengthen ALSE-OFLIFE initiatives

On 27 May 2024, Dean Philip Arnold P Tuano attended a meeting with the Philippine Consulate General in Dubai. Accompanied by Ms Bobbie Carella and Ms Cristina Calaguian, former secretariat members of the ALSE-OFLIFE group, Dean Tuano engaged in discussions with Mr Marford Angeles, the Philippine Consul General in Dubai; and Mr Jim Jimeno, Vice Consul.
During the meeting, officials expressed appreciation for the ALSE-OFLIFE group's decade-long efforts and emphasized the necessity for additional workshops and training seminars benefiting the estimated 250,000 Filipinos in the city. Also highlighted in the meeting is the University of the Philippines' forthcoming launch of online education programs in Dubai in June, underscoring the significant market demand for educational initiatives among Filipinos.
Following the meeting, Ms Carella and Ms Calaguian shared their desire for further dialogue on challenges faced by the Dubai ALSE-OFLIFE group, particularly in relation to their ties with the ALSE-OFLIFE core group in Manila. They also expressed hope for future visits by core group members to facilitate closer collaboration.
