Ateneo continues rise in QS World Rankings

Ateneo de Manila University rose in the QS World University Rankings 2025, maintaining its position among the world's top institutions of higher learning.
The rankings, released on 4 June 2024, showed Ateneo rising to rank =516, a substantial rise in the table compared to the previous year's rank of =563. The University also maintained its position as the top private institution in the Philippines.
“The collective hard work of our faculty, researchers, students, and staff is once again recognized globally, as reflected in this most recent QS World Rankings result,” said Fr Roberto Yap SJ, University President.
Institutions were evaluated based on nine indicators, across academics and research; employability; learning experience; sustainability; and global engagement. Ateneo performed particularly well in Employer Reputation, ranking 122nd globally (up from rank 141 previously); and in Employment Outcomes, ranking 156th worldwide.
Ateneo also ranked high in Academic Reputation (410) and Sustainability (584).

- Citations per Faculty 701+
- International Faculty 701+

“Participating and regularly evaluating our University's performance in established institutional rankings allows us to benchmark with our peer institutions across the world,” said Yap.
“However, rankings is just one tool to help us in our work, and we should always remain focused on our core mission of teaching, research, and social engagement, in pursuit of our strategic goals as a Filipino, Catholic, and Jesuit institution responding to a rapidly changing world,” he added.
A total of 5,663 institutions from 105 locations were evaluated, and out of this 1,503 were included in the rankings, according to QS. A total of five Philippine institutions were included in this year's list.
