on his appointment as
Commissioner
of the National Historical Commission of the Philippines
Dr Navarro is an Assistant Professor at the Department of History and Director of the University Archives.
The National Historical Commission of the Philippines is an arm of the NCCA and its mission is the promotion of Philippine history and cultural heritage through research, conservation of heritage sites, documentation, and the promotion of local history. Its goal is to instill pride in the Filipino and to rekindle its spirit through the lessons of history. Our main goal then as commissioners is to advise and assist the government in its cultural and development agenda.
