ASOG Dean joins roundtable discussion on the Marcos Jr and Duterte regimes at Ateneo de Davao University

On 23 April 2024, ASOG Dean Dr Philip Arnold P Tuaño joined a roundtable discussion entitled “Reflections on Governance: Insights into the Marcos Jr. and Duterte Regimes” at the Ateneo de Davao University.
During the discussion, Dean Tuaño provided an economic overview on both the Duterte and Marcos administrations, stating that former President Duterte prioritized infrastructure and tax reforms while President Marcos has so far focused on bureaucratic reforms. He also highlighted the significant impact of economic structure on electoral outcomes which affect political institutions that mediate the distribution of resources in the country.
