Mental Health in the Philippines: A Policy Challenge, 21 May
15 May 2024

The Ateneo School of Government, through the Ateneo Policy Center, in partnership with Unilab Foundation, will be hosting a brown bag session titled “Mental Health in the Philippines: A Policy Challenge” on 21 May 2024, 9:00 AM to 12:00 nn.
Mental health has long been relegated in the background of priorities, despite its mounting costs to Philippine society. In 2018, Republic Act 11036 or the Mental Health Act of the Philippines was enacted. Years later, achievements have been made, yet gaps remain evident.
In this session, Atty. Michael de la Peña will present the developments and challenges of the Mental Health Act, delving into the role of local government units in implementing the law, their accomplishments, and inadequacies, and offers recommendations for improvement.
The event is free, but seats are limited. You may register through: bit.ly/ASOG_MH
